So what is it?

Liverpool’s 4th open International Pavement Art Competition 2012

in celebration of the life and times of Liverpool born Victorian pavement artist James William Carling (1857-1887).

FREE TO ENTER & open to all artists (professional and amateur) An opportunity to compete & showcase your work and talents on the streets of Liverpool, England, UK.

An Italian Street Painting competition using chalks/pastels ‘screeved’ directly onto the pavement; exactly as James Carling would have done it!

The James Carling International Pavement Art Competition is part of The Bold Street Festival & attracts thousands of visitors, showcasing the works of professional pavement artists and involving children in The Little Chalker’s Art Competition. We are a growing event attracting a lot of interest from overseas artists and we would truly like to become an international arts festival competing with some of the best in the world. None of this would be possible without sponsorship.
